Diamond is, without a doubt, the hardest substance known to man.  The material has extreme wear resistant properties and has been the focus of much research and development by industries and academics over the years.  Although synthetic diamond is well accepted for its use in material removal applications such as sawing, grinding, machining and drilling – it’s use as a wear resistant component for many other industrial applications has lagged.     It’s presumed brittlenes (true for natural diamond) is a major factor hindering introduction to other market areas.

SWM has expertise in various nozzle applications, a.w. spray drying nozzles, for over 40 years. We have mastered engineering defined hole geometries into diamond discs. This opens opportunities for long life nozzles for high pressure applications such as spray drying and waterjet cutting. A life time increase of 10 to 15 times has been achieved compared to Tungsten Carbid or ceramic materials.
